Wagon ride

To the taste if Glen Ellyn. A short walk to some great food! We won't be able to fit all three in the wagon for much longer.

The 2013 Lincoln Talent Show

A few weeks ago Dalby participated in her school Talent Show and she had so much fun!  The kindergarten boys in her class had a band and (5) of the girls in her class danced.
We had gotten a flyer for the Talent Show....which I recycled.  And then Dalby asked me about dancing in the show.  She asked me once, and I said we would see, she asked me again and I thought...maybe she is more serious about the show....and thought after Spring Break when everyone isn't preparing for a trip/time off school we would organize something.  During Spring Break she asked me and the Sunday before school restarted she asked.   She was serious about the show!  We had talked a few times about what the Talent Show was and meant(dancing on stage in front of classmates, parents and teachers) and she was ready!  We emailed a few parents and everyone was in and ready to dance.  We organized a practice at our house and set out to create a dance.  The dance was all the girls doing.  I really became the moderator and helped them compromise.  It was really quite a crazy process for five (5) year olds.  We decided on the song - "Call Me Maybe" and the dance.  Then we snacked and played and snacked and played and practiced.  Then we set up another "practice" and snacked and played and snacked and played and oh yeah practiced.  I laugh because the first practice I thought needed to be an hour and half get together....the next time we "practiced" for an hour - which was perfect.  The girls had so much fun and were so excited to perform!

All the girls in their "party dresses".  Every girl had a specific dress and/or shoes in mind that they thought they could wear to dance...what fun to dress up!

The Performance
They did great and all of the girls were ready for the stage.  A minute before the show we were watching her boy classmates perform and Dalby came up behind me crying.  I thought we had a case of stage fright.  Dalby had actually fallen on an extension cord and had bruised her finger.  She performed injured:)  The show must go on!

Birthday Scooters

Charlie and Quinn want to be able to do a lot of things their big sister does and one of those is ride a scooter.  Now they can practice with their sister.  We received birthday money to buy the scooters.  I called several Targets trying to track down the Radio Flyer three wheeled scooter - popular item!  I had luck with two different Targets.  So we all went to pick up the gifts and they love them!!!

Absolutely!

I don't post many videos of other things besides our kids....because I don't watch many videos....but this video is a great reminder to everyone.
