Asleep

As discussed before, Dalby has at least an hour quiet time in her bed everyday, however most days there is no sleeping just playing, reading and talking. The pictures below show how tired our "big sister" can get carrying out all of her duties, even with her quiet time.

Dalby fought me tooth and nail and said that she wasn't hungry for dinner. I made her eggs and she began whining and whining. I turned my head to ignore her and and do dishes, the whining suddenly stopped and I turned back and I saw this.......
...and then we tried to wake Dalby up because we thought maybe she wouldn't sleep at night. I got her up from her chair and tried to play with her, asked if she wanted a brownie...just to keep her awake and she wanted nothing to do with any of it and fell right asleep on the kitchen floor.....where we left her for an hour. When she awoke the first thing she asked for....the brownie:)
Marin Dalby sometimes has trouble deciding whether she wants to go on a car ride or not. Well it happens that Daddy had to run an errand and Dalby teetered between yes and no for a LONG time so Daddy and I decided no. Well that sent her into a complete meltdown. Eventually she calmed down and sat with me on the living room floor falling asleep in my nap. I inched her off my lap and snapped a shot.....boots and all:)
Unfortunately we passed a stomach virus from kid to kid in our house. Marin Dalby seemed to catch a bad case of it eating only a prisoners diet(bread and butter, water and saltines). One afternoon she was so tired and we were trying to avoid feeding her too much so we coaxed her into the wagon and walked her around the block. She promptly fell asleep and slept in the house in the wagon for a few hours waking up feeling much better.

Clowning around

Our second cousin and pal Ryleigh's third birthday party.......Ryleigh's mom found the candy dots that you peel off paper...remember those? Dalby enjoyed them and mastered getting the dots off without the paper(a task I was never as good at). The best item for Dalby(besides the cake, ice cream and party) was the favor.....a red clown nose:)

Easter 2010

We had a nice Easter this year with Papa and Geba visiting and awaiting the arrival of our two new little ones. It was week 39 for us in the pregnancy so we did things a bit differently. Dalby still got up to Easter Eggs hidden around the living room. (We didn't dye any this year, we had no kitchen. I think next year I would like to try and color some eggs, but this year they were filled with candy treats and stickers). Well one of the sticker sheets happened to be yellow smiley faces and one of the smiley face stickers had come off somewhere before it made it into the Easter basket. Not thinking this was a big deal the Easter Bunny still gave Dalby the sticker sheet. This missing sticker was one of the first things Marin Dalby noticed. We discussed the possibilities of where it might have disappeared and several theories emerged. The theory that seems to remain in Dalby's mind is that the Easter Bunny took it! There are no two ways about it and she was quite upset that the Easter Bunny would do such a thing as to take her sticker. We talked about how the Easter Bunny probably gave it to someone who didn't get much for Easter...not buying it......but Easter continued and my parents and Dalby got ready for the church Easter Egg hunt. Papa and Geba left for church and on the ride to church the discussion turned to the missing sticker again. Dalby informed my parents that she was, "Going to church to get her sticker back from the bunny." No luck at church finding the sticker. All day and even after if the Easter bunny was discussed the missing sticker was talked about....until...my Aunt sent cute teddy bears for all three children. Marin Dalby's had a special name tag on it that my Aunt had made and not knowing the smiley face sticker saga, she had placed a smiley face sticker exactly like the one missing from our Easter basket onto the name tag. So the discussions begin again....:)

Seemingly a little less bothered by the grass this year.....see 2009

Q & C's 8 week check-up

The doctor is very happy with our little ones growth and progress. Here are the stats:
Quinn: 10 lbs 1 oz, 22.5", overall: 31st percentile for her age
Charlie: 13 lbs 8 oz, 23.5", overall: 87st percentile for his age
They got their first shots(3 shots and one oral medication), needless to say it was a bit of a rough day yesterday for us all. The pictures below were taken last week. The onesies are the same size but obviously fit them differently :) Quinn loves to talk and entertain and finds almost all jokes funny. Charlie is not so interested in entertaining but always offers up sweet smiles and discussions off camera. And as always, Marin Dalby finds posing for the camera quite fun and jumps right into the action!

Logistics

A few questions we are asked a lot are - do you have enough room in your car for everyone? Where does everyone sleep? Right now we put the three car seats across the backseat. It is quite a production to time when we leave the house, to load everyone and everything up and to leave the house. We all fit into our car, but no one else does. We do have a third row seat but it is down to house our strollers. Soon we will have a triple stroller that we can't wait to get but for now it takes two people to push this crew around. As far as sleeping arrangements: Dalby sleeps in her big girl bed in the bedroom. The two little ones sleep in bassinets in the rec room. The rec room contains our pool table which is converted into one large changing table. The changing table houses all that you can think of for baby care. We change a lot of diapers: Quinn-Size 1, Charile-Size 2 and Dalby-Size 5. Soon they will transition to one crib(if it works out) and ideally all three will sleep in the same room. If that doesn't work then we will move a few things around and Dalby will get her own room. We are just figuring things out as we go with the rooms because we aren't sure what to expect at each stage.

Smiles

About a week and a half ago we started getting smiles....now the trick is getting all three to smile at the same time and look at the camera.......

Hospital photos

Here are the photos from the hospital I was referring to in the previous post.....these photos were a lot of work to get! We were going to try and get one of the three children together and it was plenty to get the shot of the two. We had to get them both fed, happy, changed and set up for the picture...Quinn fell asleep in the process. Here is the link to the pictures of Marin Dalby at the hospital.
